Electric Vehicle Care

Summer months Care of your Electric Vehicle

Use EcoMode or Range Mode if available

Eco mode, which is also sometimes called “range mode”, can provide better range for your car and may decrease the load on the battery.

Park indoors or in the shade if possible

Aim to park your car in a garage or in the shade, which can prevent overheating and maximize range.

Charge your car at night or in the morning when it is cooler.

This can help prevent the battery from overheating and improve charging efficiency. If your EV has timed charging features, consider setting it to charge during these cooler periods.

Aim to keep your battery at 20%-80% charge

Only charging to 80% is normally recommended in order to conserve good battery health. This is especially important during hot temperatures as long charging sessions further heat the battery and can lead to degradation.

Check your tire pressure

Warm weather can make your tire pressure go up, which might impact your car's efficiency and safety. Make sure to check the tire pressure to keep your car running smoothly and make your tires last longer.
